Boyd Gaming Breaks Ground on Cadence Crossing Casino in Henderson
Boyd Gaming, a prominent gaming company, has recently announced the groundbreaking of its latest property, Cadence Crossing Casino, in southern Nevada. This new 10,000-square-foot casino will be situated on Boulder Highway near the Cadence master-planned community, offering a unique and modern gaming experience along with multiple dining options.
The casino is set to feature 450 slot machines, ensuring plenty of entertainment for visitors, along with a variety of food and beverage choices to cater to different tastes.
Exciting Developments in the Works
Expected to open its doors in mid-2026, Cadence Crossing Casino will be taking over the 33-year-old Jokers Wild Casino in Henderson. The existing casino will remain operational until the new establishment is ready to welcome guests. Following this, Jokers Wild will be demolished to make space for parking facilities for the upcoming casino.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony was held at the project site, with Boyd Gaming’s top executives and Henderson city officials coming together to mark the beginning of this exciting venture. The event was attended by notable figures such as Marianne Johnson, Executive Chairman of Boyd Gaming, and Mayor Michelle Romero of the City of Henderson.
Keith Smith, President and CEO of Boyd Gaming, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “As we celebrate Boyd’s 50th year in business, we are excited to begin development of our newest entertainment destination in the Las Vegas Valley. Cadence Crossing will allow us to better serve the rapidly-growing master-planned community of Cadence and further expand our presence in Henderson as the Cadence community continues to flourish in the coming years.”

During Boyd Gaming’s second-quarter earnings call in July, plans for the Cadence Crossing project were unveiled, with an estimated $100 million capital expenditure allocated for renovations. Additionally, Boyd Gaming holds a 5% equity stake in FanDuel Group, the leading sports-betting operator in the nation, and is the official local casino partner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Mayor Michelle Romero expressed her excitement for the project, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the community. She shared, “I’m so pleased to be here today in such good company to join you on the groundbreaking for this amazing project. Last fall, we began work on the reimagined Boulder Highway project, and the $170 million investment on these 7½ miles will have a positive impact across many facets of our community.”
